Work Permits

Any High School Student working must have a valid work permit on file with the school and employer. If you are 18 years of age you will still need to obtain a work permit as long as you are a high school student. 

Students need to be hired first before completing the application.

1. Get hired

2. Download the work permit application here and print

3. Student fills out the first two sections (Minor Info & School Info) including full SSN and Student ID #

4. Give application to your employer to fill out their section, sign and date it (in blue or black ink pen). Students CANNOT fill out this section and signatures CANNOT be typed

5. Give application to your parent or guardian to fill out  their section, sign and date it (blue or black ink pen). Students CANNOT fill out this section and signatures CANNOT be typed

6. Leave the vert last section blank, that is for staff to fill out

7. Submit your form to the main office

 

SCHOOL YEAR WORK PERMITS

Work Permit Policy: 

Before a work permit is issued, the student must be in good attendance and academic standing, which means:

* Good attendance for (3) weeks prior to applying for a work permit                            (2-unexcused absences -including school suspensions and/or (3) tardies - is a maximus for this period)

* Must have a 2.0 GPA or better and NO F's on the last report card

* If the student is not in good standing or dos not meet the 2.0 GPA requirement the student MAY receive a Probationary or Temporary Work Permit valid until the next grading period upon approval from school administration.

 

Processing Times: Work permits could take up to 48hrs to process

SUMMER WORK PERMITS

Summer work permits are valid for summer only. Grades and attendance are not a factor in obtaining a summer permit. You must apply for a school year permit within the first month of school staring.
