Tutorial Period

What is Tutorial?
Tutorial is a mandatory 45-minute block built into the school day, separate from students' regular class schedule. It is designed to give students dedicated time to focus on academic support, enrichment, or make-up work.

Why We're Doing This:
Tutorial time gives students structured, in-school access to extra help, whether that means working ahead, getting support in a challenging subject, making up missed assignments, or receiving targeted intervention from a teacher. It also reinforces personal responsibility, as students are expected to plan ahead and choose how to use the time productively.

How It Works:
- Tutorial takes place every Tuesday and Wednesday.
- Students choose which subject or classroom to focus on during this time, based on their individual academic needs.
- Students must report to a teacher's classroom during the Tutorial block.
- Attendance is mandatory. Students must scan their Student ID card upon arrival to be marked present.
- In some cases, a teacher may specifically request that a student attend their classroom for targeted intervention, support, or make-up work. When this happens, the student is expected to report to that teacher's room rather than choosing another location.

What Families Should Know:
- Please make sure your student brings their Student ID card to school every Tuesday and Wednesday, since it is required to be marked present for Tutorial.
- If your student loses or forgets their ID, they should check in with the front office before Tutorial begins to avoid an attendance issue.
- If a teacher has requested that your student attend a specific Tutorial session for intervention or extra support, your student will be informed directly by that teacher.
- Tutorial attendance will be tracked and may be factored into academic support conversations, so consistent attendance matters.
