General Announcements

  • Thank you to all who brought in cans for our Canned Food Drive.  The competition was very close but the winner is… Mr. Goldsmith’s 3rd period class.

  • The Newark Library is looking for high school students to volunteer to help elementary aged children with reading and homework.  If you are interested in volunteering at the Newark Library, please pick up an application from our librarian Mrs. Wasser-Tung.

  • The SAT that will be taking place on March 14th at NMHS is filling up fast.  If you want to take the SAT on OUR campus you need to sign up as soon as possible at collegeboard.org.

  • CALLING ALL STUDENTS!  ENTER THE NEWARK OPTIMIST CLUB ESSAY CONTEST.  The annual Newark Optimist Club Essay Contest is now underway.  The Club is encouraging Tri-City area students to contemplate the phrase: “Is Optimism the Key to Achieving the Dreams you iMagine?”  The top-3 Club essays will receive cash prizes of $200, $100, an $50. The first-place essay will advance to the District competition and have an opportunity to win a $2,500 college scholarship.  Completed essays and applications must be received by January 24, 2020, and sent to Darryl Reina, Chairman, at [email protected] or mailed to the Newark Optimist Club at P.O. Box 402, Newark, CA 94560.
